“Naturally, we want to lead our children to security and healing, but too often we discover that we do not know the way there for ourselves. The undeniable reality is that, just as with our children from hard places, our past affects our future, but the good news for us and our children is that the past does not determine our future.” – Dr. Karyn Purvis, Empowered to Connect
Hi, I am Janelle Anderson. I am a graduate of Austin Peay State University with a Master of Social Work. I have a passion for working with others – especially children – in helping them overcome their trauma that may hinder them from reaching their full potential.
I work with children and adults of all ages with their loved ones to address emotional and behavioral difficulties resulting from traumatic experiences, as well as disparities including: military, identity, cultural, social, and economic.
My therapeutic style is centered around respect and empathy. I strive to help you become more empowered and find deeper self-awareness and understanding. I utilize a variety of techniques with an integrative, client-centered approach to understand your life experiences and how it may impact the here and now.
On a Personal Note:
When I am not in the office, I enjoy spending quality time with my family. I volunteer at events when time allows to give back to the cities of Clarksville and Nashville. I love a good concert or seeing a comedy show.
