Marketa Cawood
Have you ever found yourself saying things like, “Well, bad things happen to good people,” or, “Suffering and emotional pain are inevitable.” Maybe you’ve been on your own, left to figure things out as best as you could. Maybe you’ve tried everything and nothing has worked.
It’s my role to be your guide on your mental health journey to help you shift gears and discover a new way of looking at yourself and life. I’ll share some of the ‘the manual’ on how your brain is working, help you understand why you are hurting, and provide you with tools to help you use your brain so it’s a lot nicer to you.
My interests are broad and span the full range of the human condition. I’m particularly interested in trauma and all things trauma-related. I like to dig deeper beneath the surface of emotion and behaviors to find out what happened and how it shapes the way we feel and act. I have extensive experience teaching sociology and psychology at the college level, but helping people rediscover their mental health is my true passion.
