If you can’t fly, run. If you can’t run, walk. If you can’t walk, crawl, but by all means, keep moving.

Master’s Level Intern:

As a master’s level counselor in training, I am eager to learn from my colleagues and use my experiences to further my counseling techniques and theories. I have a background in serving older adults and children with trauma exposure, which has fueled my interest in the utilities of existential theory and cognitive behavioral therapy techniques.

As an avid listener of music, I find myself resonating with lyrics and the stories that a performer tells through them. Artist Noah Khan declared in his song Call Your Mom that, “all lights turned off, can be turned on”. This quote to me is what therapy and the counseling relationship is about, turning on a light, whether that be a light of empowerment, recovery, or epiphany in an otherwise dark or discouraging place. As a counselor, I aspire to help my clients create that light for themselves and facilitate the client’s journey to understanding what it means to them.

On a Personal Note:

Outside the office, I enjoy keeping my hands busy by crafting, tending to my plants, or playing sudoku. My husband and I have two cats that we love to hang out with and spoil.  I also enjoy reading, watching a good tv show, and trying new foods.
