My name is Alyssa and I am currently finishing my Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. In my practice, I believe that the ultimate source of resilience lies in discovering meaning in our lives. When faced with darkness, finding this meaning can seem nearly impossible. Therapy is a tool that can be used to help shine a light that helps to lead you through.
There is no singular definition of 'normal.' With billions of individual perspectives, our responsibility is to be authentically ourselves. Each of us has something valuable to contribute, and we all deserve to be embraced for who we are. Recognizing that each person's journey is uniquely personal, I approach therapy with the understanding that there is no universal solution. My priority is to honor who YOU are and support YOUR goals. In our work together, I aim to cultivate a trusting and safe environment where you are truly seen and heard. My role is to guide you in exploring the root of your challenges and to foster meaningful growth and healing along the way.
My areas of interest include anxiety, depression, bipolar disorders, trauma, substance abuse, life transitions, grief, self-esteem, and the LGBTQ+ community. I enjoy working individually with teens and adults.
On a Personal Note:
I’m originally from Southern New Jersey and moved to the Nashville area in 2012. As an animal lover, I share my home with 3 cats, 1 dog, and 3 guinea pigs, and I hope to pursue animal rescue in the future. I enjoy yoga, reading, and taking naps in my downtime. Creativity is a big part of who I am, whether it’s painting, making jewelry, or designing costumes. Halloween is, without a doubt, my favorite holiday — and I celebrate it all year long!
